How can I support St. Mark?
Giving to the church is an important aspect of being a member of the congregation. We don't give because we think we'll earn God's favor, or because the church loves money.
We don't give so that our staff and leadership drive fancy cars.
We give because Jesus confirms the idea of giving as a sacrifice to God, and because God loves a cheerful giver.
We give because it allows us to support the ministry here. Without your giving, we have no electricity or water, no pastor or staff, no preaching and no Sacraments.
We trust in the Lord to take care of our needs should we face scarcity.
We give to model our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave up His life so that we might live. To give of our monetary wealth is a small sacrifice like Christ’s, but is still important.
We can give a tithe, which means 10% of our income, or an offering, any gift of any amount. It doesn’t matter how much you give; what matters is your heart. We give to God generously, and we give to the point where we are cheerful about it and no more.
We give not just money, but we also give of our time and our talents. We give our prayers. We spend time in the church doing work around it and for it. We serve according to our abilities. Baking, handyman work, finances, even parents. Everyone can help in some way.
Now, if you’re not a member, we warmly welcome your gift, but please know there’s no expectation. If you are a member, one thing you’ve promised is to support the ministry of St. Mark through your gifts.
Let's join together to do that, with open hearts and the love of Christ Jesus.
